Chemical and Medical Peels

Are There Any Risks or Side Effects?
As with any cosmetic procedure, temporary swelling, bruising, tenderness and redness are common after treatment and usually settle within days to two weeks. Less commonly, you may notice lumps, asymmetry or infection, and after a thread lift, dimpling, visible threads or thread migration. Rarer but more serious complications can occur, which your doctor will discuss with you before treatment.

When Will I See Results
Pigmentation fades gradually, so results build over a series of sessions rather than a single visit. Fotona’s own melasma protocol typically involves 4 to 8 sessions. Melasma is a chronic condition, so maintenance sessions and daily sun protection help keep your results.
